10 ways you can use music at home

  1. Listen To Music in different environments

  2. Talk About Music - the emotional qualities, the lyrics, the instruments and the overall feeling

  3. Use your voice - don't be shy! Play around. Your child loves your voice AND it is regulating for you, too

  4. Use music to establish routines- set the mood. Think evening wind down or calm drop-offs

  5. Combine music with movement- Friday night dance parties?

  6. Use music to relax, focus or ignite energy- start making playlists for different moods!

  7. Use music for transitions- drop-offs can be hard, play music in the car or while getting ready in the morning

  8. Focus on the process over the outcome

  9. Use music to connect - sing, dance and do actions with your child
